kopete-message-indicator software package provides Kopete plugin for Message Indicator, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install kopete-message-indicator
kopete-message-indicator is installed in your system.
Make ensure the kopete-message-indicator package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep kopete-message-indicator *
You will get with kopete-message-indicator package name, version, architecture and description in a table
